We Attended the Premier Science Event of the Spring in Lviv: OL Science & Tech Fest 2025

On May 31, the campus of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted a dynamic science fair as part of the OL Science & Tech Fest 2025. At numerous booths, Ukrainian developers and startups showcased exciting technological solutions across a variety of fields – from 3D printing and green energy to biotechnology, robotic systems, and more.

In the university’s main assembly hall, the main stage featured a lineup of inspiring speakers. The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated talk by Kip Thorne, the 2017 Nobel Prize laureate in Physics and renowned American physicist.

Kip Thorne shared his experience collaborating with the film industry, notably on projects by Christopher Nolan. He offered a glimpse into the mysteries of world-building and the cosmic structure of the universe — as far as current science can reveal.

OL Science & Tech Fest provides a unique opportunity to explore innovations and technologies that are already available in Ukraine and continue to advance despite the challenges of full-scale war. Some of these cutting-edge solutions will soon be integrated into the ICITY educational program.
